During the summer season (Dec-Mar), the Mababe Depression transforms into a vast wetland spanning approximately 10 square miles. As the dry season approaches, the water gradually recedes, revealing nutrient-rich grasslands that attract immense herds of grazing animals. Impressive herds of buffalo, can reach staggering numbers during certain times of the year. These "superherds" are a captivating sight to behold, with thousands of animals grazing together across the vast plains.
