“Carolyn, all the camps were perfect. We had everything we needed, and the services were perfect. All animal sightings were plentiful, and the guides were all mindful to not over invade the space. We loved the Okavango Delta, mokoros and the powerboat rides. The guides were impeccable, knowledgeable and didn’t mind skipping the sundowners to see more animals. I am a picky eater and had no issues with my food or my stomach. All food was healthy and there was variety at each meal. Nothing ever felt crowded. Holiday Recipe: South African Melktert
If you’re looking for an international dessert for the holidays, we recommend South African Milk Tart or as the Afrikaans call it, Melktert. It’s easy to make and consists of a sweet pastry crust containing a custard filling. You will find it’s similar to custard pie but more delicate, with a lighter texture.
